About - Victoria Art
Victoria is a classically trained visual artist inspired by the tradition of the European theatre. In her attention to detail and sense of style, Victoria draws inspiration from such greats as Erté, Leon Bakst and Alexandre Benouis.
She was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, receiving her Master’s in Costume and Set Design from the world-renowned Moscow Art Theatre School (MXAT). She also received vigorous training in representational painting from the Surikov’s School of Fine Art.
Victoria designed costumes for some of Russia and Canada’s most prominent theatre companies, such as Maly Theatre, Modern Ballet Company, Royal Alexandra Theatre and Varpahovsky Theatre. Her artworks are held in private collections in Russia, North America and Europe and her work has been exhibited in major galleries, such as Koffler Gallery and McMichaels’ Gallery.
Victoria makes her home in Toronto, Canada, where she spends her days painting; her evenings are often spent going to theatre with her four daughters.
